Macbeth is one of William Shakespeare's most beloved and popular plays. And when considering which of his works to present as the first Shakespeare at the Masquers, it was easy to choose this vibrant and intricate piece.

Traditionally called "The Scottish Play", Macbeth revolves around the underhanded struggle for the Scottish throne. At the center of this growing web of deceit lies Macbeth (Chris LeBlanc), a nobleman whose career is caught in an inescapable rut until the day he receives a premonition that he will become king. Spurred on by his politically hungry wife, Lady Macbeth (Holli Bosnar), Macbeth has to dig inside of himself to come to terms with the deeds and sacrifices -- physical, emotional, and mental -- that he has to perform to achieve his goals.

One lie is used to cover another. And another to cover that. The biggest problem is -- once you perform an act, it can't be taken back.

Opposing Macbeth's rise to power stand the crown prince Malcolm (Justin Monk) and the earthly warrior Macduff (Jeremy Hansen).

Virginia Holman, Jessica LeBlanc and Jodi Truman play the wierd sisters. Clarke Foestner is the kind-hearted Duncan, and Kyle Leslie plays the valiant Banquo. Filling out the cast as lords and ladies in this tangled plot are Peggy Dubey, Eric Suitter, Kellie Bracht, Caleb Henson, Jessica Martin, Jeff Ames and Kurtis Kolve.
