"ANYTHING GOES"

THE MASQUERS THEATER MUSICAL PREMIERE

By Beverly Hasper

Artistic Director

In our second full season at the Jolly Theater the Masquers decided it was time to put on a full scale musical. Randy Brooks the director was set on Anything Goes, as the production to launch Masquers musical theatre.

Anything Goes brims with familiar Cole Porter classics. A comedy of errors, the action takes place on board a transatlantic cruiser, set in the 1930s.

The theater is buzzing with activity at the nightly rehearsals. Karen Kinch, choreographer and leading lady, positively radiates with enthusiasm as she leads the dancers (hoofers) through their paces. The chorus members belt out Blow Gabriel Blow. And colorful costumes are everywhere.

Randy Johnstad, technical director, and Robert Barker, designer and builder, are transforming the stage into a ship for the show. The technical people are rubbing their hands together in anticipation of the new stage lights that will light up the S.S American.

The main actors in Anything Goes are: Karen Kinch, Bob Jasman, Cheri Barbre, Eric Suitter, Joshua Matheson and Stephanie Moore. Other actors are: Tere Ovenell, Eric Van Woert, Marta Von Grey, Darryl Pheasant, Diana Johnson, Katie McMains, Don Long, Patric Connelly, Jack St Marie, Jessie Adamson, Danielle Boss, Cherie Kendall, Charlotte Blanchard, Tammy Brooks, Brendan Brooks, Josh Vorderbrueggen, Shirley Achurra, Becky McMains, Jean Adamson, and Ed Adamson.

Tickets are $12, and times for the show are 8 P.M. October 21-22, 28-29, November 4-5, 11-12, 18-19. Sunday Matinees 3 P.M. October 30 and November 6.

Call Masquers for reservations at 246-2611.
