A Classic "Carol" Comes to Life at Masquers Theater

Everyone knows the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the greedy, miserly, penny-pinching poster boy of the holiday season.  This heart-felt tale by Charles Dickens has flourished for 165 years, questioning our character and shaping our hearts.

So why come to the theater to watch a story you’ve heard time and again?  Why spend the time to watch a show that has warmed the hearts of humanity for nearly two centuries?

A Christmas Carol isn’t solely about our cantankerous old Mr. Scrooge.  Although Scrooge is an extreme, we can find something of ourselves in his character as we catch ourselves from time to time looking toward the end of the month with tight-fisted fervor.  Once again we can feel the life affirming joy with Scrooge as he is brought to the realization that there is far more to living life than paychecks and bills.  Sharing this joy is a way of bonding with our family and friends, children and grandparents this Holiday Season as we experience together the timeless tale of A Christmas Carol as it unfolds, not on paper or on the television screen, but live, right before your very eyes.

Heading the cast as Ebenezer Scrooge is Eric Suitter, a well versed and well known actor to the Masquers stage.  This classic Christmas story is directed and adapted to stage by Tyrell Pickett, co-directed by Nick Mahaney, and presented with the overarching style and voice of Charles Dickens.  It delivers the needed warmth of the holiday season through dance, music, bright lights, colors, and a classic tale of love.
