MASQUERS NEWS RELEASE
MARCH 2006
Kids Can Color for Free Tickets
Masquers Theater, Soap Lake, is sponsoring a coloring contest so kids
under 12 can win free tickets to it’s first Children’s Theater
Production of
The Land of the Dragon,
by Madge Miller.
Three age groups, 6-7 years old, 8-9 years olds & 10-12 years old,
can win four children’s tickets and one adult ticket if their entry is
chosen as best in their age group. The Art Guild of the Soap Lake Area
will judge the colored entries and those chosen will be framed and
displayed in the lobby of Masquers Jolly Theater in addition to winning
the tickets. Those entries not winning tickets… “will fill the rear wall
of the Sola Auditorium with great color and exuberance” says play
director, Randy Johnstad. The cartoon to be colored is an original by
Soap Lake’s honored resident John Glassco, past President of Masquers
Theater and community activist.
The Official Entry Form is available in Moses Lake at the Public
Library, Olde World Trading Co. and The Home Stretch kitchen store. In
Ephrata the forms can be found at the Public Library, Olde World Trading
Co., The Bookery and Second Hand Prose. In Quincy the forms are at the
Public Library, Akins Grocery and Heartland Pharmacy. In Soap Lake find

Masquers Theater.

super-natural creatures, an elegant setting, magic and beautiful
costumes…” is what the audience can expect says Mr. Johnstad. He
continued… “The Land of the Dragon is Cinderella, Snow
White, Robin Hood and The Hobbit all rolled into one.
It will delight both children and adults and sweep away every audience
member to a time and place only dreamed of.”
