Warm-hearted comedy The
Curious Savage Now through May 10 ![]()
The Curious Savage
by John Patrick opened at Masquers Theater in Soap Lake on April 18th.
“This play has the best blend of deeply rich and
diverse characters of any play I have directed,” says director Eric Van
Woert. “At some point in the show each one has a moment to shine. Even
though it is a very funny comedy, it contains characters that surprise
you. The characters you would expect to be solid and reliable turn out
to be the ones who let you down, and the ones you would expect to be the
least reliable manage to come through.”

| The Masquers Theater of Soap Lake has produced more than fifty plays over the last twenty+ years. Our success is the result of hundreds of hours of volunteer time and an unfailing commitment to produce theater. Our repertoire has included classic performances of Tennessee Williams' Glass Menagerie, Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers, and Beth Henley’s Crimes of the Heart. We have also produced Driving Miss Daisy and The Diary of Anne Frank. Recently, Masquers most popular offering has been our annual musical -- the first two were Cole Porter's Anything Goes and Li'l Abner, by Norman Panama and Melvin Frank. The story of the Masquers is one of change and diversity. It's a story about how a small group of committed individuals would not give up their dream of bringing live theatre to a rural county in the arid east side of Washington state. | |||||
