SEE
YA’ AT MASQUERS
![]() By Beverly Hasper Admit it.
Sometimes you see yourself on stage, with a spotlight shining on you,
and a large audience listening to what you say, or what you are playing
on your guitar or singing, or maybe they are watching you dance. Or
maybe you are an accomplished performer already, and are looking for a
place to strut your stuff. Here at
Masquers we are very fortunate to have not only a beautiful facility,
but also skilled directors like Randy Brooks, Cheri Barbre and Eric Van
Woert. They are able to act, sing and direct, as well as train new
actors. We normally produce four or five plays in a season, and at
least one is a musical for which we need actors, singers and musicians.
Our current season has six plays. We know that
auditions are a little intimidating, so we try to make it as easy as
possible. Acting is a little like sky diving. The auditions are like
the jumping out of the airplane part, a leap of faith you might say.
Being on stage with an audience is the free fall part (this is the rush
that sky-divers live for). The applause afterward is like the safe
landing. One big difference though – If you die on stage, you
usually live to tell about it. |
